Remembrance day 2024 Cementerio Británico Montevideo

Remembrance Day
11 November 2024 at 11:00 AM

Every 11 November, we come together to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served their countries in armed conflicts, from the First World War to the present day. Remembrance Day is a moment of reflection on the tireless efforts of these men and women, whose commitment to peace continues to inspire us all. This date marks the anniversary of the armistice signed at 11:00 a.m. on 11 November 1918, at Le Francport, France, ending the First World War. At this hour, the commemorative ceremony reaches its most solemn moment, with the sounding of "The Last Post" on the bugle, a respectful tribute to all those who lost their lives in conflict. During this ceremony, we honour the fallen from all nations involved, without distinction of sides. The event is open to the public and will begin at 10:45 a.m. in the garden near the entrance gate. We invite you to join us in this solemn and meaningful ceremony, where, through silence and remembrance, we pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for peace.
