This 11 November, The Allies, together with the British Embassy in Uruguay, invite you to take part in Remembrance Day at our cemetery to pay tribute to those who served their country in armed conflicts, from the First World War onwards, in the pursuit of peace. The ceremony will include the participation of Mal Green, British Ambassador to Uruguay; the Reverend Hernán Dei Castelli, Vicar General of the Anglican Church of Uruguay; and Madeleine Pool, Treasurer of the British Cemetery. Gonzalo Rodríguez will perform a Lament on the bagpipes, and William Shaw will play The Last Post on the bugle, in honour of the brave fallen in conflict. Attendees will be invited to plant crosses in the cemetery grounds as a symbol of remembrance and gratitude. British Cemetery Tuesday, 11 November – 10:30 a.m. Free admission.
