On Saturday, 14th June, we invite you to a day dedicated to science, memory, and the stones that make history. Did you know that one of the pioneers of geology in Uruguay is buried here? Dr. Karl Walther, a German geologist who settled in Montevideo, was instrumental in the first systematic studies of the country’s soils and rock formations, laying the foundations for this discipline in Uruguay. 3:00 PM – 4:15 PM | Guided Tour – “Science in Uruguay through its Pioneers” A tour of the graves of men and women who have made significant contributions to the country's scientific history.
